Top 5 Holes in the Jays Offense

5-Designated Hitter: Edwin Encarnacion has picked up late in the year, but is he the DH ultimately going forward? All sings point to EE keeping his job next year and the Jays picking his option, but it will be interesting to see if he can finally put together a complete solid year at 29.

4-First Base: When Adam Lind is on, he does not get out. I can argue that a hot Lind is the best hitter on the Jays, however he does not seem to be hot often enough to make a Solid 1B! His OBP has always   been a problem. He is still young however and has a good chance of turning into the 2009 Adam Lind for more than a month.

3-Lead off: The Jays have not had a solid lead off hitter for a long time, a man who can get on and steal bases! Escobar does a good job of getting on and Davis can steal..but neither one can do both good. Personally I believe Escobar makes a perfect number 2 hitter (even though he is a righty). I don't see the Jays going after a big name lead off man this off season so it will be interesting to see what direction the Jays take from here on.

2-Second Base: From an all star to a fast falling type B free agent! Aaron hill was rented away for six weeks of Kelly Johnson. I don't see Hill or Johnson coming back so the Jays have a decision to make at 2B. Adeiny Hechavarria (the young Cuban shortstop) is not moving over and neither is Lawrie. The Ideal situation will be a 2B who can lead off, but that will be hard to find.

1- Some protection for Bautista: Lind does not cut it, when EE hits 4th he seems to struggle, Lawrie is too young to hit 4th and Escobar is busy leading off. Can you just imagine an All star hitting behind Jose(Lind absolutely deserved to be one this year and in '09)? the Jays With a legit number 4 hitter, the Jays lineup can be extremely deadly.
